Meditation and wellbeing

On December 20th, the students of 2ndESO / MYP3 received an introductory session to the practice of meditation. This is an increasingly popular tool to manage the incessant flow of thoughts and emotions, regaining control of our attention to focus on one thing, and doing so from a place of peace and balance. In times of over-stimulation and uncertainty, these skills are essential on a personal level, and increasingly in demand on a professional level.

Likewise, our Psychology students in 2nd Bachillerato enjoyed an introductory session in meditation. In this case relating it to Neuroscience and the subject matter of their course. We explored the evidence that demonstrates the need for silence for the brain. We also learned how this practice stimulates brain regions related to well-being and neural networks.
