Success in the First Participation in MathCup

For the first time,  SEK-El Castillo took part in MathCup, a prestigious international competition that challenges students’ mathematical talent through demanding problems in logic, calculation, and reasoning.

The school’s participation resulted in outstanding achievements, reflecting the high academic level of its students and their ability to take on complex challenges. A total of 14 students, from Year 3 (Primary) to Year 13 (Diploma Programme), ranked among the top 10 in their respective categories, demonstrating excellence across all educational stages.

This impressive performance enabled SEK El Castillo to secure 3rd place in the overall school ranking, a particularly notable accomplishment in its debut participation.

Special recognition goes to the top performers in the upper categories: Lucas P. (Year 11) and Gonzalo G-O. (Year 13 – Diploma Programme).

In addition, the results in the Sixth Form/Diploma stage were especially remarkable, with 5 of the top 10 students coming from SEK-El Castillo, further highlighting the strength of the school’s mathematics programme.

Participation in MathCup underlines the commitment to academic excellence, the development of logical thinking, and preparing students to compete at an international level.
