NURSERY, FROM 4 MONTHS TO 3 YEARS OLD

100% in English (from 1 year old) with native-speaking or bilingual teachers (with native-speaker level).

  • Learning spaces inside and outside the classroom (vegetable gardens, recreational spaces …).
  • Use of technology   according to learning objectives.

  • The acquisition of basic health and well-being habits.
  • Improvement of motor skills and hand coordination.
  • Interacting with the environment giving priority to their need to explore and move, strengthening their social affective relationships.

  • We promote active life with:
    • From 4 months to 1 year old: 1 period a week child/parent swimming, 1 period a day of pyschomotor skills and one period a week of music.
    • Ages 1 to 3: 2 swimming periods per week, 2 pyschomotor skills periods and 1 music period.

In stage 2 of Early Childhood Education children take the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP).

Nursery school hours

  • Full day from 9:30 to 17:00 – 17:30.
  • Half day from 9:30 to 13:00.
  • Reduced day from 9:30 to 15:00 – 15:30.

* With the opportunity to extend the hours of each day to 7:30 to 19:00.

 

PRESCHOOL , FROM 3 TO 6 YEARS OLD

From 3 years of age children take the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP)

  • Full programme in English with native-speaking or bilingual teachers (at native-speaker level) with 1 Spanish period per day.
  • This programme focuses on the integral development of the child and their capacity for inquiry and discovery, both in class and in the world that surrounds them.
  • Encourages students to develop their independence and take responsibility for their own learning.
  • Attending the social, physical, academic, emotional and cultural needs of each student.
  • Introduction to the alphabet.
  • Early initiation in numbers, technology, arts and music.
  • Evaluation through observation using evidence collection in learning portfolios.

Early Childhood school hours:

  • From 09:30 to 17:30.

* With the opportunity to extend the hours of each day to 7:30 to 19:00 in both stages and up to year 2 of Primary Education.

Part one is focussed around:

 100% in English from 1 year old.

Language development.

Improvement of motor skills and manipulative abilities.

The establishment of affective links with others, progressive development in expressions of feelings and emotions.

Part two is focussed around:

100% in English with one module of Spanish per day

Learning to read and write.

Early introduction to numeracy, technology, visual arts and music.

Beginning in this part the International Baccalaureate® Primary Years Programme (PYP) is implemented in phases.
